US Dept of Labor MSHA Mine Escape System Using Concrete Pipe

The Mine Safety and Health Administration’s (MSHAs) Great Escape, is a system developed for miners suddenly faced with an underground mine emergency. The system provides miners with a constant and uncontaminated supply of breathable air, along with a rapid, safe means of escape through an isolated, structurally protected escape path. The system could safely protect communications and tracking systems from fire and explosive forces. See www.msha.gov
